Okay, I'm going to attempt to be coherent except maybe not and oh god, I'll just say I loved all of this, because I do and HOW DO YOU DO THIS TO ME?
1) The "flashback" with Cook walking in on Jensen and Jared and unf, I would NOT have hesitated to take Jared up on his offer.
2) Archie avoiding Cook. D: Oh, Archie, your ninja-like disappearing ways hurts Cook. Loved that he starts to ask Archie for help and sees he's not there, that he tries to do normal things, but he can't because it's too quiet and lonely after he's used to being with Archie.
3) Archie's avoidance being brought to light by Jared and Dean. And David pushing but not too far, not in public. And letting it go for the moment.
And then.
4) HOLY SHIT THE SHOWER SCENE. Something that's so potentially painful and was, actually, but you managed to make it hot and sexy with Archie all naked and wet and naked and embarrassed and did I mention naked? And Cook all not being able to keep his eyes off and how he can't calm down even after and how this sudden punch-in-the-gut realization of his attraction for Archie just makes the whole situation worse and oh my god I can't wait for the next part. Every time I read this, I keep looking and it's still "pre-slash" and I can't wait for that to turn into actual, like, slash. Because then I'd know that all the UST has come to a head and there is finally action. Although if something does happen, I have a feeling someone would start freaking out, at least for a little while.
