[Incest warning!] [Nick Carter/Aaron Carter] [NC-16 for incest and swearing]
Magazine Fic #3
"What was that all about?" Nick demanded, holding up a magazine in his hands.
Aaron shrugged, not glancing at the interview that had been conducted with him, "I think they're cool."
"Is there something you're not telling me, Aaron?"
The younger boy sighed, "No."
"Oh, wow, I'm so convinced," Nick narrowed his eyes. "Now spill."
"It's nothing," Aaron insisted, "It's stupid."
"It's nothing and it's stupid do don't go together, Aaron. If it's stupid, something's up."
"Fuck, would you just leave me alone?"
"Whoa, you watch that mouth, young man," Nick frowned. He put a hand on Aaron's shoulder, looking surprised when his brother shrugged it off. "Hey," he said softly, "You can talk to me, you know."
Aaron's shoulders slumped and he looked down at his feet, turning away from the glass window he was staring out of. "I just... I'm growing up, getting into funks. That's all."
Nick nodded sympathetically, "I know how you feel."
Aaron's face twisted, before he rubbed his forehead and muttered, "Ha. Sure you do>'
"What was that?"
"Nick, for god's sake, get your ears checked."
Nick's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. One minute they were fine, the next minute Aaron was getting pissy, then they were fine, then pissy Aaron appeared again. This was not how his brother normally acted. "Aaron, something's bugging you. It shows." He paused, "Tell me?"
Aaron ran a hand through his hair, frustrated, smiling weakly when he saw Nick doing the same thing. "I learnt way too much from you, dude," he told Nick, trying to lighten the situation.
Nick laughed then, before saying squeakily, "But I don't loooooveeee *Nsync! And I don't think they're amaaazzing!"
Aaron giggled, secretly relieved, "'Course you do. You had a thing for Justin, then Lance, and you know you want Chris. Joey's just everybody's whore. And you know no one can resist the kitten's charm."
Nick was turning greener by the second. "Jesus! Dude, where do you get all this shit? That's twisted, man! Justin? Lance? CHRIS? And god forbid, JOEY?!" He paused for a second, "Although I guess I'd consider JC... if he was, like, the last man left on Earth or something."
Aaron grinned, "See? What did I tell you? Don't try to hide it, Nick! You waaaaaaannnnnt them!"
"Ha ha," Nick replied dryly, "As much as I want... Britney, probably."
"Hey!" Aaron protested, "I like her!"
Nick rolled his eyes good naturedly, "Amateur."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"That you're inexperienced and ain't seen no nothin' yet."
Aaron growled, "Wanna bet?"
"Bet what?"
"That I've seen and done more than you think."
Nick smirked, "Bring it on."
Aaron smiled then, and Nick could have sworn he saw a trace of want in his brother's eyes. Aaron walked slowly towards Nick, who couldn't help taking a small step back, mesmerized by Aaron's intense gaze. "You scared of me, Nicky?" Aaron whispered, coming closer still.
"No," Nick squeaked, before clearing his throat and trying again, but still only managing a hoarse, choked, "No."
He was ready to tell Aaron to cut it out then, because fuck, he was suddenly realizing that he felt things about Aaron that he shouldn't have been feeling. At all. Things that really pushed the meaning of 'brotherly love'.
But then his lips were covered by Aaron's, and all coherent thought left him. His knees buckled and he had to grab onto Aaron's shoulders to support himself. Nick pulled away, seeing a look of confusion and hurt on Aaron's face as he did so.
"Hey," he mumbled softly, reaching to pull Aaron in a hug. But Aaron moved away, and Nick thought he saw tears in those familiar eyes.
"D'you see, Nick?" Aaron's words were barely audible, his voice small and broken, "D'you see why I couldn't tell you?"
"Tell me what?" Nick asked, mind still hazy from the kiss.
Aaron sighed and swallowed, "If you wanted someone, if you loved someone so much it hurts, and you couldn't tell them cause the words never came out right and you were so scared of fucking it all up... what would you do?"
"Kiss them?" Nick ventured, not thinking clearly enough to berate Aaron for cursing.
Aaron smiled sadly, then, and a purer expression of pain Nick had never seen. "Exactly," he said, looking back over his shoulder at Nick one last time, before he left the room. "Think about it."
