You're brilliant, do you know that?!? These were all so good, and just exemplify that eternal push and pull between Cook and Archie. I enjoyed the first three a great deal. Especially Archie as a kindergarten teacher. I could totally see that. And he's so great with kids. And that moment when they finally meet, and they're all sort of stunned, and like "Hi...", and the blushing and stuff. Yeah, that's the good stuff.
I had a really hard time with the fourth one. You totally did your job portraying a relationship in crisis, but man, Cook was just such an asshole in that one. I didn't even care that he was suffering, and being stubborn, because he was causing so much of it himself. Even if he felt conflicted over whether they should be together, or not, what with the gap between their ages, and the ethics of professor/student dynamics, he was still behaving *appallingly*. So you did your job there, and showed how even when he wanted to walk away, he couldn't fight the overwhelming attraction he felt for Archie. It was a real power-house, but it made my stomach-muscles clench, so I was ready for some love, and happy times.
And you delivered. And #5 just illustrated how, even though they have a mutual love for music, what really seems to pull them together, as friends, is beyond that. Cook is constantly referring, in interviews, to the fact that Archie is one of the most genuine people he knows, and how he's such a good person. I think that there are so many qualities that they each admire about the other, that even if you take music out of the equation, they would still find one another, and still share their love of music in an indirect way. Take away Archie's hearing and you still have the humour, and affection, and understanding that you have in this world. And Cook was his usual magnificent self, and I adored him so much here. And the fact that it united the BoUH, and both families, was a winner. This made me cry tears of joy, it affected me so. And Cook does so love his grand gestures, doesn't he?? Love them both sooooooooooo much. And you. Hee.
Job well done, BB. I'm just about to fall asleep at the keyboard here, so I hope that the above comment makes *some kind of sense*. Just know that I loved them all, and this is something that I'll have to come back to, again and again. So good night, and bon voyage. Safe journey on your travels. I hope that you see many wonderful things. I can't wait to hear all about it. Many thanks for posting before leaving. It really is much appreciated. Good night now. :)
