And suddenly David's stumbling inside the bathroom. And so the broken bathroom lock comes into play.
David's mouth goes dry, and he wrenches his gaze away. "Uh," he says, intelligently, as he fumbles for the doorknob. "Sorry. Sorry, the - fuck, the lock isn't working." "Um," Archie says, still clutching desperately at the curtains. "I - we could maybe fix that later?" Okay I'm really in love with this whole scene. You wrote it so so realistically and the awkward was so well-portrayed and also Cook's brief moment of noticing the little things about David like the water in his eyelashes and the fact that his lips were swollen and his oh fuck moment. Just loved that all a whole lot.
has to try not to laugh when Archie yelps in protests. "Uh," he says. "Just so we're clear, this talk isn't over." "Oh my gosh," Archie says, and David doesn't even have to look to know he's blushing. "Cook!" "Yeah," David says. "I'm just gonna--" And then you totally did an awesome job of lightening the mood with this bit.
