I just - you know, I had all these things that I wanted to say (mostly repeating the things that I've already said, because I think you should hear them again) but I got to the ending and just -- guhh.
Okay, okay, here are the main points:
- The sex scene, oh gosh. Absolutely perfect and oh so fitting. It slid in so well, I could not tell you'd been worried about it at all if I didn't know, and it flowed completely naturally. It worked so well and it was so beautiful and easy with just a touch of melancholy, I think. Perfect perfect perfect.
- The ending. I TOLD YOU, YOU ALWAYS DO GOOD ENDINGS AND THIS IS DEFINITELY NO EXCEPTION. I just - it wraps it up so neatly and yet there's no definitive ending but there's still hope, and I think that's the main contrast between this and Arthur's dream; there's a hope there that was lacking in the dreamscape, and this is emphasised beautifully. So yay for that.
- Finally, I like how much of a mindfuck this was (and I understood it the second/third times around, haha). I feel like it's so important in Inception fic, to stay true to the original complexities of the film, and you definitely definitely achieved that which is part of why I feel it was such a delight to read.
So - yes, there are a thousand other things I loved (Eames, your Yusuf, how beautiful and flawless your writing always is) but those are the main things I wanted to mention to you. I love this and I feel like it'll stay with me for a while ♥
