Sorry for the delay! Finally got to this in the reading list I've been slotting in - blame RL and the usual.
Anyway, I just wanted to say I really loved this one. Especially the end-conflict between Arthur and Cobb, because it's just like them, I guess, to end up in conflict instead of a smooth transition to well - whatever kind of relationship thing they have going on.
And you totally blind-sided me with Arthur having his own Cobb projection. I feel exceedingly idiotic, given almost everyone else seemed to be on top of that game, but hey, that was brilliant and when I went back and re-read the fic again, I felt it was really well-woven into the fic. In a sense, the reader's blindsided because we're fed Arthur's perspective, and Arthur's perspective is limited.
"Arthur?" he says. He looks lost, like he isn't sure how he got here.
Arthur ignores the sudden, sharp twist of pain in his chest. "You're still in limbo," he says. "You need to come back."
He puts three bullets in Cobb's chest.
AND I love this. No more of the long conversation or persuasion bits, just 'Hi, go home' and BAM. That was rather refreshing, and rather like Arthur. (Tsk! Less impatient, darnit!)
In short, congrats on clearing the finish line for the big bang and thank you for sharing! :D
